Frequently Asked Questions

What is RSVP reading, and how does fulgo improve it? Rapid Serial Visual Presentation (RSVP) is a reading method that flashes words on the screen sequentially, eliminating the need for your eyes to track across a page. While older RSVP apps force a rigid, robotic speed that can feel overwhelming, fulgo introduces a “semantic breather.” By intelligently pausing at commas, sentence ends, and paragraph breaks, fulgo respects the natural rhythm of human language. This allows your brain to absorb complex ideas at high speeds without losing focus or context.

Where do I get books to read? You bring your own library. Designed with deep OPDS (Open Publication Distribution System) integration, fulgo allows you to browse and download DRM-free EPUBs directly from public domain catalogs like Standard Ebooks and Project Gutenberg.

Can I connect my own personal library? Yes! If you host your own collection, fulgo connects seamlessly to personal OPDS catalogs like the Calibre Content Server. You can browse your custom metadata, cover art, and descriptions right from your phone.

Is an account required to use the app? Absolutely not. Operating completely offline by default, fulgo requires no registration, no email address, and no cloud accounts. You simply open the app, select an OPDS catalog, and start reading.

Is my reading data and server information private? Yes. Because the architecture of fulgo is 100% local, your reading speed, library contents, and reading habits never leave your device. If you choose to save login credentials for a private home server, fulgo secures them directly within your phone’s encrypted local storage. There is no external tracking telemetry.

What accessibility features are included? Built to provide a highly readable experience at fast speeds, fulgo features carefully selected typography. You can choose from standard serif and sans-serif options, as well as Atkinson Hyperlegible for maximum visual clarity, and OpenDyslexic to assist readers with dyslexia.
